The MD2 cultivar is a hybrid pineapple that is produced from a breeding process between the Smooth Cayenne PRI hybrids 58-1184 and 59-443. This cultivar is the sweetest among the pineapple cultivars and has a longer shelf life.

The reason why MD2 pineapple is so popular is not only due to its exceptional breed, but it is also because of the ease in planting the pineapple. The fruit is relatively bigger with shallower eyes and can be stored in fresh condition for a longer time, hence suitable for export.

We can also source different varieties of pineapples (QUEEN, MD2, CAYENNE) being grown in different areas in Vietnam. Depending on the specifications of the final product (brix, size, color, product application…), we can recommend the most suitable fresh material.
